Alessia Caponera

I am currently a Ph.D. student at the Department of Statistical Sciences at Sapienza University in Rome. My research interests focus on nonparametric statistics and spatio-temporal applications, particularly concerning earthquakes.

I attended the summer programme at LML in 2017, under the supervision of Dr Max Werner. Following on from this fruitful experience, Dr Werner and I are continuing to work together. Our research mainly centres on investigating variability of models’ time-averaged predictive skill in earthquake forecasting and making comparisons with commonly assumed ensemble confidence bounds.
