Life of Pi (PG)
+ Presentation by Henrik Jeldtoft Jensen

Complexity scientist Henrik Jeldtoft Jensen examines how we choose among narratives which unify our experiences and observations. In science, the simpler and more facts a theory describe, the more convinced we are of its truth. The Life of Pi shows that alternative narratives may serve other ends better.

A winner of four Academy Awards including Best Director, this is Ang Leeís incredible tale of survival.

Based on Yann Martel’s best-selling novel of the same name, the film follows the journey of Pi Patel (Suraj Sharma). The young son of a zoo owner, he finds himself stranded on a life boat after a deadly storm. Cast away in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, his only companion is one of his father’s fearsome Bengal tigers.
