EE2026 – Speaker instructions

The online conference will use a format we’ve found to work well in previous years, combining pre-recorded talks and live discussions. We therefore kindly ask speakers to record their talks following the instructions below.

We will disseminate recordings to conference participants one week before the event to collect comments.

The recorded videos will be shown again at the event, followed by a live discussion.

Deadline

Recorded talks are to be uploaded no later than 11 March 2026.

Duration

The total time for the video and the discussion allocated to each speaker is 20 minutes.

The duration of the videos will be limited to 12 minutes, though we strongly recommend 10 minutes, because short talks tend to work best. We recommend limiting technical detail to the essentials. We’ll be happy to post references alongside the videos.

Please do not accelerate the video to fit the time constraint.

Making a recording

Speakers are welcome to choose any tool they want for procuring the recording as long as the resulting file format is a common video format, like mp4.

An easy way to record yourself is by using Zoom. Start a meeting, ensuring that your audio and video are enabled, and share your screen if you’re presenting slides. Click the “Record” button to begin recording. After you end the meeting, Zoom will automatically process the recording, and the video file will be saved in the default directory:

 – Windows: C:\Users\[Username]\Documents\Zoom

 – Mac: /Users/[Username]/Documents/Zoom

 – Linux: home/[Username]/Documents/Zoom

Further instructions for recording a Zoom meeting are here.
