Jorge David Castaño Yepes

My research interests cover a wide range of subjects. Although my Ph.D. was dedicated to the study of the Quantum Chromodynamics under extreme conditions, i.e., high temperatures, densities, and strong magnetic fields, I have active collaborations in topics of material science, statistical mechanics, photonic crystals, quantum dots, effective models for topological insulators, and porous silicon applications. Currently, I’m an active member of two research groups: “Matter Under extreme Conditions” in the Nuclear Sciences Institute (UNAM) and the “Theoretical and Computational Physics” at the University of Quindío (Colombia). I hope to join at the Isaac Perez Castillo team as a postdoctoral fellow supported by the agreement between the LML and the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), to study several aspects related to the topological matter, quantum optics, and statistical mechanics.
