Now in its 3rd Season, Science on Screen is a series of cinematic explorations of the space where science and culture overlap.
Run in partnership with The Barbican, this series of films explores the rich terrain between science and the arts.
Notable figures from science and medicine introduce their favourite films, making unexpected connections which show how scientific perspectives can shed light on artistic, cultural, and social issues. As the series unfolds we discover that science is a human endeavour as dependent on our creative impulses as any other. The idea of a divide between it and the arts may itself be creative fiction, preventing science from taking its place in the spectrum of our cultural sensibilities.
